2nd Blogiversary & Givaway

Hello lovelies! ❤️

It’s been too long since I posted something of substance on this cobweb-collecting corner of the internet. I’m not a very good blogger but I do think about my readers a lot and it’s the thought that counts right? *cries in shame*

ANYWHO! My blog has existed for two whole years now! I started it in the back room of my Nana’s house in Arizona. I worked on it for an entire day. I still haven’t figured out the ins and out 100% and I’m (obviously) still not posting consistently, but so many of you have humbled me by talking about how much my blog has impacted you and I’m surprised every time. I pause and I’m like “Wow God. You knew what You we’re doing when You inspired me to start this seemingly silly, insignificant blog.”

You guys are what keep this thing going. So I want to thank you with a giveaway. (And maybe a video at some point?)

SO. In order to enter you must:

  1. Be following my blog and
  2. Answer the following questions:
  • What is your greatest passion that is unique to you?
  • What unique gift has God given (or is cultivating in) you that pertains to how you relate to other people? Are you empathetic? A good listener? A great practical helper?
  • What is one of your weaknesses and how is God working you through it?

You can either comment them below or on my corresponding Instagram or Facebook posts since commenting on blogs is sometimes a hassle. 😂

After you all have commented I will assign you a number and then use a random generator to pick a number for me. The giveaway will close November 19th and I will chose a winner on November 20th.

“…But…what’s in the giveaway?”

I’m collecting little ideas here and there already, and more details will follow. 😉

Thank you for reading! ❤️ Hopefully I’ll come up with something interesting to post on here soon. It’s been a weird year. 😂

  1. i have a big passion for people in general and love to listen to conversation and participate in them. God has also blessed me with social skills which also connects to the first question. and one of my weaknesses is still realizing how much i truly need God and i’m still struggling with it. i really need prayer and sometimes i feel like i can take on the world alone which i know is not true. prayers are appreciated. love you, Abbie!

  2. It’s great to get a post from you again! Wow, two whole years seems like so long… 🙂 Here’s to the next 200!!! (wait, what?) Anyways:
    My answers!

What is your greatest passion that is unique to you?
-If we’re talking gifts and abilities, the Lord has blessed me with many creative passions: from drawing, playing the piano, jewelry making, cake decorating, to makeup, decorating (like, houses and stuff), and sewing, plus lots more! I don’t know I would say that stuff is UNIQUE to me, though, because lots of people can do those things. But you know. 🙂 I am grateful for these talents that God has given me, and I try to use them for His glory!

What unique gift has God given (or is cultivating in) you that pertains to how you relate to other people? Are you empathetic? A good listener? A great practical helper?
-I am definitely a helper. Service is my Spiritual Gift. God made me so that I want to help everyone I meet, even if it’s inconvenient, or not very fun. But I really love doing things that help people. I love encouraging people, and I have been told that I have been given a heart to help others, and I try to do the best I can with that gift, because that’s why God gave it to me, to use. ❤

    Last question!
What is one of your weaknesses and how is God working you through it?
Oh, gosh. A weakness. I'm the type of person who doesn't try to focus on weaknesses at all. I know it's important to acknowledge issues, but for the most part, I like to focus on the good things. ANYWAYS. I think one of my weaknesses has got to be discipline. Sometimes I go for awhile without, say, reading my Bible, or praying, and I don't even REALIZE that I've been forgetting it. I guess consistency. I'm terrible about consistency. 😛 But that's something else to pray about for sure.

Anyways, there you have it! I do hope you keep posting, because your blog is one of my favorites! Also, I hope you enjoy yourself with the giveaway. 🙂
DOES THE GIVEAWAY CONTAIN ESSENTIAL OILS. I MUST KNOW.
I love essential oils! 😀 I do hope I win, even if there aren't any oils in the package. I have to say, I've never won a giveaway before, except once I won a blog game…. but I didn't win anything for it. 😀 I'm not usually lucky like that. One time my sister called into a Christian radio station, and she was the 12th caller, which meant she won some merchandise! It was pretty cool. 🙂 Maybe I'll tell her to try and win your giveaway, she's probably lucky enough. X'D

Glad to have you back to posting! 😀

  3. Hey Abbie, Happy Blogiversary! 🙂 Thank you for doing a giveaway! Here are my answers.
What is your greatest passion that is unique to you? Writing and music are my two greatest passions.
What unique gift has God given (or is cultivating in) you that pertains to how you relate to other people? Are you empathetic? A good listener? A great practical helper? As an introvert, I don’t talk all too much, so people like talking to me (or so they say) because I am a good listener.
What is one of your weaknesses and how is God working you through it? I don’t like change… At all. And God is gently telling me that not all change is bad. I am slowly learning that.

  4. One of my passions is definitely writing! God has given me the gift and desire of encouraging others! One thing I need to work on is prideful Ness because that can be a real problem for me. He’s teaching me daily how to respond to things in humility. 🙂

  5. (Okay, so, first of all, I had no idea I could actually follow your blog?! Shows you how little I know about blogging, ha! Rest assured, I am now following and am ecstatic that I can!!)

So, first question: my greatest passion that is unique to me. I adore helping other people see their potential. So many people doubt themselves and their abilities and what God can do through them. I love showing them that they have no reason to doubt. That they could help shape the world, if they only tried and relied on God for the strength to accomplish it.

Next question. God has given me the gift of writing, or, more specifically, the gift of words. I can express myself in speech, yes, but I find it is through words that I have the most impact with people. As for being empathetic, I love to think I am, but I’m sure that I fall short in that area sometimes. I’m a fantastic listener, however. I can remember conversations from years ago, word for word, and I often use points made in past conversations with people to help them through a present difficulty they’re facing. Which, I assume, means I’m also a fairly good practical helper. I love giving people wisdom from God’s Word and my own struggles in life.

Last question. My biggest weakness in life is never reading enough of God’s Word. I’ll get up, go through my day, and completely forget about my morning devotions! It’s crazy. I think I’ve done them, but when I try to remember what verse or chapter I read that morning, there will be nothing. To help me remember, I bought two “Write the Word” journals from Lara Casey, which come with specific verses you have to write out each morning, along with some space for notes and your thoughts. It’s helped tremendously, and I couldn’t be more grateful! It’s such a joy to use them!

Anyway, Happy Two-Year Blog Anniversary (Blogiversary???)!!!

  6. Abbie ❤ congratulations on two years of your blog! Even if the posts are few and far between, that only makes them the more special when they do come along!
What is your greatest passion that is unique to you?
-Unique to me? Hm. I'm not really sure… to be honest, I think I'm still finding it out. But I am very passionate about defining things- putting words to things/truths I feel people need to grasp, and just rooting out truths in general. And making/helping people look at ideas/biases as objectively as possible.
What unique gift has God given (or is cultivating in) you that pertains to how you relate to other people? Are you empathetic? A good listener? A great practical helper?
-I think my analytical nature is my gift in this area, as well as others(a curse, too, sometimes). I can sort through observations, made by either myself or others, and pin-point the sources and logic behind behavior. That can help in dealing/helping deal with difficult people, and it can help in advising people as well. Being able to listen to someone and then help them define their problems can be useful- even if it's stressful when they might be too emotional! My love of MBTI is a pretty useful gift too, but I suppose it's just a part of what I've already said 😉
What is one of your weaknesses and how is God working you through it?
    – Pride, pride, pride. It's the root of most sins, and in my case it's most rampant in my fear of looking/being wrong or silly. I really need to be more willing to move forward and not fear being wrong, simply because it might reflect badly on me- instead I need to be able to trust God to work out the truth and recognize my own duty is to be studying for myself and presenting truths to others, and leave the rest up to Him!
These were wonderful and thought provoking questions! Thank you so much for helping us take a moment for some self-reflection- 'tis always a good thing! Xx Nina
